I. Intro

I started the RV Jet project in the first year at Purdue (2019), and finally it flies. Also, thanks to the work I have done in spring 2023, we can get it into the air quickly. We changed another ESC so the motor can actually spin when the propeller is installed. The old two-way ESC can’t output enough power when propeller is on. We also installed remote ID on it.

III. Flights
First we pushed the stick into the ground at an angle, and pulled the RV Jet and the bungee rope back for a distance, then lift the RV Jet and let it go. The flights were in stabilized mode. RV Jet circled the area for a few times and we landed it. Same procedure was done three times in total, finally I could do the landing.
It’s kind of tricky to push full throttle at the right timing.
And finally it’s in the air.
Hank was flying it. At 1:50, the lid came off because of low pressure and acceleration:
We need a larger space for landing.
